Protect Our Schools

Roger has been a strong advocate for our schools, kids and parents.  He has supported virtually 99% of the Board of Education's operating budget requests and 100% of the school construction dollars.  And while this year will be even more difficult on the operating budget, there should be record dollars flowing to school modernizations and additions to address overcrowding, an issue that District 1 schools have faced for far too long.    Roger also pushed hard for the school system to find more ways to get our children more time for physical education.  Long a proponent of making sure that every school has a gym, Roger wants our kids to get the exercise they need. 

Roger’s work led one District 1 school activist, JoAnne Scribner, to say this about him:
